The Chikuwe Story… An anonymous celebrated global inventor once stated that no dream is too small to be trashed. This rang bells in our cause as we dreamt of a professional standup comedy in the city. Such a tiny dreambecame reality on April 18th, 2017 when our team of four people met in a Harare restaurant to scheme an idea that would become one major success at a time when our economy in Zimbabwe was experiencing an extraordinary downturn. Through works of renowned stalwarts, comedy was not new to Harare but had revolved around a particular genre that never flew into other possible categories. Yesteryear comedy was hooked on TV drama through celebrated names like Mataka, Tiki, Mukadota, Katarina, Shogo, Paraffin and Gringo. These past heroes came and did their time, leaving an indelible legacy to grip Zimbabwe for a considerable future lifetime. While they did their best, old time comedians in Zimbabwe mainly served their comedy through skits performed in inner-city community hall...
